1/ The Role of AI in Culture 2.0

Shifting workplace trends? You bet. Gone are the days when a free ice cream, a fruit basket and a football table marked the height of company culture. Culture 2.0—is here and it is about truly supporting employees, beyond the office persona.

Culture 2.0, as I see it, revolves around five key aspects:

1. Supporting Our Whole Selves: The pandemic highlighted the need to acknowledge all aspects of our lives, be it family responsibilities or personal challenges, and their impact on our work life.

2. Building an Inclusive Environment: This, combined with the first point, fosters psychological safety at work. I personally feel more open to taking risks when I feel safe in my work environment.

3. Flexibility: This could mean a hybrid work model, among other things.

4. Preparing for AI: Equipping employees with the skills to understand and apply AI and other necessary tools to secure their future success.

5. Meaningful Benefits: Think daycare, mental health support, or coaching – benefits that truly matter and meet fundamental needs, encouraging innovation and creativity.

In conclusion, Culture 2.0 is about adapting to the evolving needs of the workforce, ensuring that our work environments are as supportive and inclusive as they are productive.

2/ The AI and Digital Disparity

Recently, a report highlighted that 72% of Gen Zers are keen on using technology to automate routine tasks, making space for more creativity. This got me thinking about the broader implications.

Through social media polls, I asked about the integration of AI tools like ChatGPT into professional workflows. My informal polls (while admittedly non-scientific) reveal a significant number: 70% of tech-savvy respondents would hesitate to join a company that restricts AI tool usage. That's telling.

We're entering an era I call 'AI and Digital Disparity': outside work, you might use AI to draft questions for an upcoming interview or plan your day with hyper-efficiency. Yet, stepping into the office, you might be met with outdated systems, like cloud-disconnected spreadsheets.

The message is clear – as professionals, we're seeking environments that not only recognize but also integrate the technological advancements we've become accustomed to in our personal lives. Businesses that overlook this evolution risk falling behind, as the new generation of professionals seeks workplaces where technology amplifies their creativity and efficiency.

3/ A Not-So-Distant Future

With the latest advancements in AI, the shift in attitudes, and the changing nature of workplaces, I was pondering about one question:

"What does this it actually mean for our jobs?"

The World Economic Forum in 2020 anticipated a net job shift—85 million roles disappearing but 97 million new ones created by 2025. Though the numbers might be dated, the trajectory isn't.

Three key shifts are clear to me:

- AI will influence every job.

- Some jobs will be redefined or replaced by AI.

- AI-specific roles will see an obvious expansion.

Remember, there were no social media managers before Instagram. As AI avatars gain traction, could 'AI Brand Managers' become mainstream? And as we edge into preemptive action in business, might we need a 'Head of Prediction'?

The question that might help you figure out how your job will develop is:

How can you adapt and evolve your skill set to thrive in an AI-enhanced job market?

The roles of tomorrow may be undefined today, but we all have the ability to evolve alongside AI and to define our success.
